Augmented Reality is a trending tool in many classrooms. It brings the digital world to the real world and can make static posters, sites etc come alive and interactive. This webinar will be led by Nathan Jones who has been an early innovator in this field. He will share experiences, apps to use, ideas for use etc
About the presenter: Nathan Jones @elearnjones Nathan has been teaching within Primary Education for 17 Years, both in the Catholic System and now within the Independent Schools System. His current Role at Carey Baptist Grammar School (Junior school Donvale) is teaching a 1:1 iPad Year 6 classroom and working off campus as an E-Learning Consultant. I am also the campus E-Learning Co-ordinator. In 2007 the school decided to switch from PC machines to Apple Devices. Further to this change in 2011 both Junior Schools have switched to an iPad 1:1 from P-6 (Years5/6 take their iPad’s home). Nathan has been lucky enough to be involved in Professional Learning for staff and students in the eLearning area. He has created curriculum content centred on the use of the iPads across the school. In 2011, he was acknowledged by Apple as an Apple Distinguished Educator. He has worked with Apple products, engaged in GreenScreen movies, podcasts, screencasts, iBooks Author, Augmented Reality and created documents on the use of the iPad in education and further developed the understanding of integrating Apple Technology and various Applications as engaging and creative tools throughout the school. In 2013 VITTA acknowledged his service to ICT with an Award and an creditable citation.
